Interior and Exterior House Painting

Preparing for Interior or Exterior House Painting

Having your house professionally painted is the best way to ensure good results. It also saves you the work of preparing the surfaces, applying primer, and applying one or more coats of paint to large areas. Since doing all of those things is tiring work, especially if you aren't used to it, the labor savings alone is a big benefit of having a crew come in.

That said, there will usually be some preparation for you to do before interior house painting begins, at least if you are already living in the house. The first thing to do is move everything away from the walls. This includes piles of magazines, corner cabinets, and other such obstacles. Once you can get to the walls, you'll also need to remove any pictures or other wall hangings so the interior house painting can proceed.

House painters will typically tarp up your heavy or fine furniture for you when painting inside. However, they will often want it moved to the center of the room for good measure. Some services will take care of this part for you.

Exterior house painting often doesn't require as much preparation on your part, but this isn't always the case. Painters will cover landscape plants with tarps when they can, but if there is too much growth to allow for the placement of a ladder, you may need to trim the bushes and trees out of the way. You should also check for, and remove, any tripping hazards like kids' toys.

The painters will also do preparations for exterior house painting. Surfaces will be cleaned and primed so the paint will stick well. For house painting in Flagler, St. Johns, and Volusia County, Florida, call Rhino Renovation today.
